Tracy J. Nugent joined Meyer Capel as a law clerk in 1982. Tracy became an associate with the firm in 1984, and was named a shareholder in 1989.

Tracy is a member of the Champaign County, Illinois State and American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the ABA Section of Science and Technology and a contributor to the Section's publication Software Contract Forms. Tracy has served as a Commissioner on the Board of the Housing Authority of Champaign County and has also worked with many local charitable organizations.

Tracy works with both small and large business clients in handling corporate and general business matters. His practice also includes trademark and copyright matters, banking, securities laws, real estate, estate planning and related matters.

Tracy graduated from the University of Illinois in 1984 with the joint degrees of juris doctor and master of business administration in finance. He also holds a bachelor of science in business administration, with honors, from the University of Illinois.

Tracy's wife, Claudia Nugent, is a gastroenterologist and is an associate with Christie Clinic. Both he and his wife are licensed pilots and Tracy has also earned an instrument rating. They both enjoy sports and travel.
