Meyer Capel is in search of an entry-level transactional attorney to concentrate in areas of business and real estate law.  

The candidate will be involved with matters pertaining to entity selection and formation; contract review, negotiation and drafting; real estate closings; and a variety of other business and real estate transactions.  The candidate will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic and experienced team of transactional attorneys and given significant autonomy and opportunity to grow his/her practice area in one or more of the Firm’s markets.  

The position requires a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school and license to practice law in the state of Illinois.  The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

- strong research, analytical and writing skills,

- an academic background in business associations, uniform commercial code, contracts and/or tax, 

- excellent written and oral communication skills, 

- ability to work independently with minimal supervision,

- ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks with firm deadlines, 

- strong interpersonal skills, and 

- highest ethical standards.

Meyer Capel is in search of a litigation assistant to work in a fast-pace, large volume, litigation area. Ability to multi-task, perform clerical duties including transcription, prioritze projects, and maintain positive client interaction a must. Good computer skills. Must be highly proficient with technology. 

Summer Associates and Seasonal Associates

Meyer Capel summer associates and seasonal associates are law students who seek practical experience from employment at Meyer Capel on a part-time basis during the school year or on a full-time basis in the summer. Summer and seasonal associates at Meyer Capel receive exposure to a variety of legal projects ranging from legal research to document preparation in areas of the law as diverse as litigation and mergers and acquisitions. They work with the firm's attorneys and paralegals as they prepare for trials, hearings, mediation sessions and client meetings and, on occasion, are invited to attend court hearings and client conferences. The sophistication of Meyer Capel’s practice areas allows the firm’s summer and seasonal associates to obtain experience typically only available at law firms located in major metropolitan areas.
