Associate or Shareholder Attorney - Estate & Trust

Scope of Work

The potential scope of work may include, among other tasks, (1) providing estate and trust planning and administration counsel to clients of varying backgrounds, including but not limited to high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and their families; (2) representing fiduciaries throughout the probate and trust settlement process; (3) designing customized estate plans; (4) drafting wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, trust funding instruments, and other transfer instruments of varying sophistication and objectives; (5) crafting business ownership succession plans and strategies for asset protection and tax efficiency; (6) advising clients regarding philanthropic and gifting solutions; and (7) preparing IRS Form 709 gift tax returns and federal and state estate and generation-skipping transfer tax returns.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who (1) has five or more years’ experience handling sophisticated estate and trust planning and administration matters and the potential scope of work; (2) is focused on serving clients; (3) has a record of sustained achievement; (4) is an exceptional communicator to clients and other professional advisors; (5) thinks strategically, critically, creatively, and swiftly, (6) collaborates well with other attorneys; (7) generates clients and maintains strong client relationships; (8) maintains integrity and high ethical standards at all times; (9) desires to live, work, and grow in Central Illinois; and (10) is admitted to the Illinois Bar.
