Bob Lenz awarded Logan Hay Medal

March 15, 2016

SPRINGFIELD – The Abraham Lincoln Association has awarded its highest honor, the Logan Hay Medal, to noted Bloomington attorney and long-time Lincoln promoter and expert Robert J. Lenz. “The public's appreciation for Lincoln's life and legacy, and the state of Lincoln scholarship, are significantly better because of Bob Lenz's commitment and passion,” said Abraham Lincoln Association President Kathryn Harris. “The Logan Hay Medal is awarded infrequently and recognizes individuals who have made noteworthy contributions to the mission of our association. That description fits Bob like a circuit rider's glove.”
The presentation was made on Abraham Lincoln's 207th birthday, February 12, 2016, during the Association's annual Symposium Banquet in Springfield.

The bronze Logan Hay Medal was established in 1967 by the Association and Hay descendants in honor of Logan Hay, who played an important part in the formative years of the Association. Lenz said he is deeply honored.
