Jilmala Rogers is an attorney with the firm’s litigation division, concentrating her practice in family law. She represents clients in a variety of matters including divorce (dissolution of marriage), child support, parentage, custody (allocation of parental responsibilities) and visitation (allocation of parenting time), orders or protection, adoption, and division of assets.
Jilmala is an experienced litigator and has successfully completed numerous trials both in front of judges and juries.
After graduating from law school, she moved back to Illinois and worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office. During that time Jilmala prosecuted cases from minor traffic tickets to felonies, as well as child support enforcement. Prior to joining Meyer Capel, Jilmala practiced family law in Sangamon County, Illinois. During her time there she handled a variety of family law cases.

Education
Jilmala attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She then relocated to Florida, where she obtained a Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law.
Community and Civic Engagement
Jilmala is an active member of the Champaign County Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, and the East Central Illinois Women’s Attorney’s Association. She also serves on the Champaign County board and the Board of Directors for East Central Illinois Women’s Attorney’s Association.
