Marc J. Ansel is a veteran litigator who brings over 40 years of trial experience to Meyer Capel. He is a respected trial lawyer concentrating in business and commercial litigation, including corporate, contract and fiduciary disputes, trade secret, intellectual property and unfair competition, employment construction disputes, arbitration and mediation, injury and insurance matters.

As counsel for individuals and businesses of all sizes, Mr. Ansel handles complex commercial cases in State & Federal Courts in Illinois. He has represented clients in numerous jury and bench trials, as well as appeals before all state appellate courts, the Illinois Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Ansel is also experienced in various types of alternative dispute resolution, as an advocate, and arbitrator, and a mediator.

Mr. Ansel’s professional memberships include: the American Bar Association; the Illinois State Bar Association; a Founding Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation; Champaign County Bar Association.

Education

Mr. Ansel attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1971. Activities & Societies there include Phi Beta Kappa, James Scholar, Phi Kappa Phi, Zeta Beta Tau, and Student representative on Campus-wide Conference on Conduct Governance.

Mr. Ansel received his J.D. in 1974 from the University of Illinois College of Law.
